Thru Sunday in Germany

This is the first moment we have had to communicate about our journey thus far.

I love Germany. It is very beautiful, with the Bavarian forest, rolling green hills, and the look of German houses that you would imagine from pictures. Pastor Gunther and his wife Lota and all his grown children and grandchildren (lucky ducks) live in a lovely home in a rural area. We spent some hours in their home on Friday over tea and cakes discussing ministry, the Bible, etc.

It is also very cold here. I am so glad that I decided last minute to take my winter coat, scarf, hat, and gloves! Yesterday, Pastor Gunther took us on a little tour, and we drove higher in the forest, where there was a lot of new snow. Most of the time it has been raining, sleeting, or snowing. We were put in an older hotel the past two nights. The room could be warmed up with old hot water radiators, and had thick feather comforters. The halls were dark and freezing cold. We also ate our breakfast and dinner there.

Ron and I ministered in two different church services last night and this morning. The people were friendly and the churches felt healthy. I felt really blessed meeting my brothers and sisters in another part of the world. They have many challenges being Christians here, and there is a need for revival and more ways to evangelize a people that all think they are okay because they are Catholic or Lutheran.

Our journey here was long but no problems. I wasn't able to sleep for 36 hours. Ron slept 5 times in that amount of time. He is recovering from his motorcycle accident. It was difficult for him to go up and down three flights of stairs every time at the hotel, especially with luggage. His knee and ankle are much better; his ribs are still hurting a lot. Keep praying for him to recover completely. My main need is sleep.

Our intrepretor for the service this morning, Marcus, is taking us in his car to Stuttgart shortly, which is about a 4 hour drive. We have stopped at his parent's beautiful home for some tea and cookies before the rest of the journey.

We love all of you and are praying for God to bless you in our absence.
